Assignment two
For my first Assignment in BENV2423 Explosion and Porosity i decided to investigate the affects of accidental explosions on people who have intended to create that same explosion. The first experimentation looks at the different ways that that explosion could of been prevented. for assignment two i have decided to continue on the theme of the porosity of explosions on humans but a bit more general, because we are showing the after affects of explosions on Richard Goodwin's "cactus" building, the building is not human like. to create a more human like effect i have decided to treat the model as it was human, natural but that it was encased within a hard surface almost like a skeleton or skin.
in my 33% model i have not only subtracted from the model but also added vessel like lofts to the building to represent the vessels within a human body. the vessels were not lofted out because humans when exploded may have a clean cut and usually the body is still connected in some way, either through a vein, vessels, skin, or bone. the vessel like lofts represent this effect. the type of explosive that caused the destruction of the building it not as important as the effect it has in human or natural context. the type of explosive that could of caused the damage in the 33% could of been from missiles from 20th wars.
in my 55% model i decided to treat the model as a human more literally. the main type of explosive that this experiment looks at is the effects of bullets on humans. the centre cut loft is a demonstration of a bullet ripping through one end of a human body and cleanly exiting the body leaving no traces of a bullet besides a big massive hole from one end to another.
in experiment two the re-representation of Richard Goodwins model i was able to further explore the means of porosity and explosions and humans.
